Golden Sands Retreat House Rules

CHECK-IN/CHECK-OUT

  • Check-in is from 4pm and Check-out is by 10am.
  • Bookings online are instant and that means that we only have a few hours between Bookings to clean and launder ready for the next Guests that have either already booked or can potentially book the day of your check-out.
  • Late check-outs past 10am that have not obtained permission, will incur a fee calculated at $100 per hour or part thereof. When departing the Property, please close and lock all the glass doors and put the keys back in the key safe. Please ensure the electric gate and the front gates are closed when departing.
  • We also request that the front gates and electric roller gate are kept closed during your stay to avoid wondering dogs and wallabies entering the Property. Keeping the electric roller gate closed also ensures that people renting the Units that aren’t with your group, understand that the house enclosed area/pool are off limits.

VISITORS, PARTIES and FUNCTIONS

  • The number of Guests/Visitors onsite at the Property must never exceed the number of Guests/Visitors confirmed on your Booking confirmation and/or the rental agreement. There are no exceptions unless it is approved in writing by Management prior to the commencement of your Booking. If any other Guests stay, extra charges will apply and be retained from your security bond or an added charge in excess of the security bond if other damages exceed the security bond amount, and the agreement may be terminated without refund. This is a health and safety issue relating to fire safety, sanitation and hygiene (septic and water supply), insurance, and our social responsibility to our Neighbours and residents.
  • Parties and functions are NOT allowed unless approved by Management.
  • At all times Guests remain responsible for persons attending, no disturbance of Neighbours, no undue noise, no behaviour likely to cause damage to Property, or offence, or embarrassment to others, all loud music and excessive noise to cease by 11.30pm on weekends and 9.00pm weekdays, including Sunday evenings. By all means please enjoy yourselves and have fun but be mindful of your surroundings.
  • Breach of these conditions, including if NT Police must attend Golden Sands whilst you are staying, may result in immediate termination and eviction without refund.
  • Wagait Beach is a very peaceful, tranquil small community, and all we ask is that you adhere to our rules and policies, and be respectful of the Property, Neighbours and residents.

QUAD BIKES and ATVs

  • No quad bikes or ATV’s are allowed. Wagait Beach has an RUA (Restricted Use Area) as per the diagram below. Under Section 20C of the Soil Conservation and Land Utilisation Act 1969, it is an offence to undertake the following activities within the RUA:
  • possess or use a motor vehicle (including cars, motorbikes and ATVs e.g. quad bikes, side by sides etc.)

ALL MOTORISED VEHICLES and CAMPING

  • No vehicles are permitted to drive or park anywhere past the back/beachside carport or through the back/beachside gates to access the RUA or beach area unless it is an emergency situation. Camping is prohibited on the RUA.

RUA LAND

  • The RUA is public land and you’re more than welcome to use this area to enjoy the views and access the beaches at any time. Please use common courtesy and remove all personal belongings and rubbish from the RUA and beaches.

LINEN AND TOWELS

We will provide linen, pillows, bath towels and blankets/quilts for the 4 bedrooms, no linen/pillows provided for the 2 sofa beds or the porta cot. Beach towels are not supplied.

PETS

Pets are not permitted in the property.

WATER

Our water is supplied through rain and bore tanks and is of limited supply, particularly during the dry season. Please be mindful and water wise when using our water supply.

YOUR OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

  • You must comply with all House Rules (on the desk next to the front door and a copy is also emailed to you with the key collection information) and all instructions from Management of the Property concerning occupancy, Property, health, safety (particularly pool and beach safety) and quiet enjoyment of the Property and respect of our neighbours.
  • Fireworks are NOT permitted.
  • Please treat the timber floor upstairs carefully. Do not drag or slide anything across it which may scratch it – No high heels, no eskies etc inside.
  • Extra cleaning charges may be incurred for the cleaning of dirty dishes, emptying the fridge, removal of excessive rubbish and if the property is left very messy, dirty etc. Whilst we welcome families and guests with young children, if there is excessive glass cleaning from handprints etc. you will be charged $100.00 to cover the extra time needed to clean the glass.
  • All furniture and furnishings must be left in the position they were in when you arrived.
  • Please call or text us to advise time of departure so we can arrange cleaning
  • You are responsible for the safekeeping and replacement of accommodation keys. If you lose your keys duplicate keys will be provided at an additional charge of $60 for the house and $60 per unit.
  • Smoking is permitted on the Property, but not inside the house or units at any time. Please use ashtrays provided.

PROBLEMS OR COMPLAINTS

  • In the case of any problem or complaint, you must inform Management at the earliest opportunity, so Management has the chance to rectify the situation as quickly and efficiently as possible. You must allow repair/service access to the Property during reasonable hours. 
  • If anything is broken, appliance not working etc on your arrival, please notify Management.
  • Any complaint, which cannot be resolved locally, must be notified in writing to Management prior to departure from the Property.  
  • Failure to follow this procedure this may hinder the ability of Management to rectify the problem or complaint and reduce or extinguish any claim you may have.

POOL SAFETY

  • No running around the pool area. The stones may be slippery so please be careful.
  • No Diving or Jumping into the pool.
  • The pool fence is regulation with two safety gates. Please keep gates closed at all times.
  • Only plastic glasses and cans to be used for drinks in pool area. No Glass or Bottles.

BEACH SAFETY

  • Northern Territory waters do have several potential threats to your safety.
  • Crocodiles have been seen in the Wagait Beach area. Crocodile attacks can be fatal.
  • Box Jellyfish are in the NT waters potentially all year round with the main season being October to May. Box Jellyfish stings are painful and can also be fatal in certain circumstances.
  • When walking on the beach please be aware of your children and pets at all times.
  • Swimming at the beach is at your own risk and is NOT recommended.

GENERAL SAFETY

Goldens Sands Owners and Managers take no responsibility for your personal safety while you are Guests of this Property. Please ensure you adhere to all House Rules and Terms and Conditions in this Holiday Rental Agreement. Your safety and that of your Visitors is solely your responsibility. We recommend all Guests purchase travel insurance since Management are not responsible for any injuries, illness or accidents that may occur whilst staying at our Property. Please be aware of trip hazards, especially on any concrete or paved areas throughout the property.

For your information – Golden Sands Retreat may have other Guests on site during your stay so please be mindful of music etc. The accommodation (Units) are 50M from the main house, near the front/roadside gate. Unit Guests are aware that the house fenced area and plunge pool are exclusively for those that book the house.
